7 January, 2008 - 18:37
Skål International Québec has recently announced the creation of a yearly $500 scholarship to a Mérici College student. This scholarship will be awarded alternately, with one student from the hotel management one year and a tourism student the next.
The Skål/Mérici scholarship will be awarded to a tourism or hotel management student who has distinguished himself/herself by establishing solid relationships with his/her fellow students, the teaching staff and the school’s administration; with his/her involvement in social or volunteer activities; by his/her promotion of friendship in tourism, which is a core Skål value. Leadership, academic excellence and his/her ease to speak French, English and a third language will also be criteria used to determine who the recipient will be.
Skål International Québec is a professional organization founded in 1971 by various actors in the city’s tourism industry: travel agencies, hotels, airlines, motorcoach operators, car rental operators, local tour operators, etc.
Skål international Québec is affiliated with Skål International, a large grouping of tourism professionals founded in Paris in 1932. Today, Skål International has over 22,000 members and 500 clubs in some 100 countries worldwide.
